Creative expression

Creative expression

Various forms of creative expression can be used in evaluation as a means for individual and groups to represent their ideas and/or feelings. They can generate rich data containing many subtleties which may be uncovered in other ways. The methods do pose interpretation challenges, but getting a group to work through intepretation can provide yet more useful insights into evaluation questions. Creative expression forms include: drawing, stories, rama, role plays, music, found objects and collages.

When using creative expression it is important to choose an art form which feels confortable to participants. Once the form has been chosen it is usually helpful to give individuals or group a theme of question(s) to guide their work.
