Fatunbi A Oluwole
Dr. Fatunbi A Oluwole is an academic /research and development scientist with progressive experience in Agronomy (farming systems, soil fertility), technology transfer and research management. His professional work encompassed diverse research and development projects, with primary interest in resource and crop management towards sustainable agricultural production and improvement in livelihood and quality of life of the smallholder farmers.
He obtained a doctorate degree in Agronomy, from University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and currently works with The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), Accra, Ghana, as the program officer of the Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge Program.
Prior to joining FARA, Dr. Fatunbi worked in various other positions; at the Agricultural and Rural Development Research Institute (ARDRI), University of Fort Hare, South Africa, as a researcher; at the Total Development International Foundation (TODEV) as Programme Manager, at the ARATI Environmental Limited as a soil fertility management consultant, at the African Child Care Foundation as program manager, at the Savannah Sugar Company limited as field agronomist and at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan (as a Visiting Research Fellow).
Dr. Fatunbi have over 12 years professional experience in agriculture and rural development research management, he is skillful in broad range of issues related to food security in sub-Saharan Africa. He also have extensive skills in field and laboratory based research methodologies in agronomy, farming systems, soil fertility, renewable resources, nutrient management and technology transfer. He is a certified Professional Natural Scientist, by the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions.
