Jamie Watts
As former Coordinator of the Institutional Learning and Change Initiative (ILAC), I’ve focused on promoting participatory and learning oriented planning and evaluation to enhance the impact of agricultural research and building a culture of evaluative inquiry (asking tough questions about what works and what doesn’t in order to improve programmes). Prior to coming to the CGIAR in 1999, I worked in natural resources management and tropical forest conservation and have consulted in evaluation with FAO and other organizations. My interest in participation in agriculture and natural resources management dates from the early 1980’s and includes thesis research on participatory decision making in agricultural research networks.
