Leighla Bowers
Leighla Bowers currently works for the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) at the FAO headquarters in Rome. Alongside Yvonne Pinto, the GCARD Programme Manager and the local GCARD Organizing Team in Montpellier, she's involved in organizing logistical and communications aspects relating to GCARD 2010. She also served as a marketing and communications consultant prior to GCARD.
She achieved a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising and a secondary major in French language from the U. of Kentucky, which she completed while studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France. She also interned at rbb Public Relations where she focused her time on helping to develop nationwide public relations campaigns for consumer and non-profit clients.
