Workshop on Inclusive Partnerships for Agricultural Research for Development
A two-day workshop, held in Nairobi, Kenya on February 3-4 2010 brought together key stakeholders representing NGOs, the private and public sector, policy bodies, research bodies, and donor organisations in order to stimulate dialogue and increase understanding of how to connect agricultural research with development through partnerships including current challenges, good practice cases, and an action agenda for the way forward.
The aim of this website is to be the main point for information throughout and beyond the workshop both for workshop attendees and the wider community of agricultural research partnerships and their partner organisations. Please explore this site to learn more about who is involved, the objective of the initiative, including challenges facing agricultural partnerships, good practice cases, and finally the outcomes from the workshop.
It is crucial for stakeholders’ perspectives heard, their needs communicated and current challenges presented in an accessible way. As such, all feedback from the 2 day workshop including session summaries, audio transcripts, and video interviews and photos will continue to be made available here. It is also possible to view participant’s profiles to directly get a sense of issues they are faced with and what their needs and expectations are going forward.
In particular, we encourage and look forward to participants’ active involvement post-workshop in order to continue engagement on the practicalities of the action agenda that will be developed with participants during the workshop and which will feed into the Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD) 2010 Summit discussions. Strong and direct linkages with the GCARD will help ensure that the lessons learned are made available to a wide range of agricultural research organizations and their partners.
